Steven J. Weed, 53, of Bethlehem, passed away February 24, 2025. Born in Richland, WA, he was the son of the late Louis Steven Weed and the late Barbara (Morrison) Sokolsky. Steven was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Allentown and their Senior Group. He enjoyed puzzling, playing Wordle and creating video games on his computer. He will be deeply missed.
Margaret M. Weirbach, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away October 27, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Calvin E. Weirbach Jr. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marion Boehm. Margaret was of the Christian faith. She will be deeply missed.
Joanne M. (Marona) Wuest, 94, a longtime resident of Historic Bethlehem passed away December 30th, 2023. Born in the small village of Millbrook, NY she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Anna (Piacentino) Marona. Joanne graduated from Mount St. Vincent College with a Bachelor’s degree in English and then her Master’s in Special Education from Penn State University in 1973. Joanne began her teaching career in Manhattan, NY before working as a Special Education Teacher for the Bethlehem Area School District for 23 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and served as an organist for many years at St. Ursula Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for the Bethlehem Public Library and was a member of the PA Retired Teachers of Bethlehem, and Northampton County. She loved her 1890 Queen Anne house and enjoyed playing the piano every day, especially Bach. She will be deeply missed.
Richard G. Wasko, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away January 27, 2023. He was the loving husband of the late Frances H. (Ernst) Wasko. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Matthew and Helen (Kucera) Wasko. Richard graduated in 1948 from Bethlehem Vo-tech. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1951 on the USS Midway. Richard retired from the Bethlehem Fire Dept. Engine 9 in 1987 after 27 years of service. Richard then worked as a driver for the Morning Call. He was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church. He was a fan of Lehigh University Sports, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies. Richard also enjoyed listening to Polka music. He will be deeply missed.
Wesley “Wes” John West Sr. of Bethlehem passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 14, 2022. He is survived by his devoted wife Donna, children Wesley Jr. (Christina), Tammy (Edwin), and Cindy, adored grandchildren, and two sisters, Germaine and Charlotte. Wes was born in Baltimore Maryland on June 29, 1950 and lived most of his life in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He was very proud of being a business owner from the age of 16, when he started his lifelong career at his business WW General Construction. He was proud of his family and enjoyed the company of his friends. Wes’ family is hosting a memorial on Saturday, September 24 2022, at West Side Republican Club (1207 W. Broad St. in Bethlehem) from 1-4 pm.
Dale R. Wiles, 54 of Allentown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Born in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of Robert and Carolyn Wiles.
Daniel Karl Weiskopf, 78, of Bethlehem, passed away March 12, 2022. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Grace (Williams) Weiskopf. He graduated from Liberty High School, from Moravian College and attended Lehigh University. Daniel was a self-employed contractor in the remodeling industry for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He will be deeply missed.
