Elizabeth “Josephine” (Steinbacher) Turzanski, 91, of Bethlehem, passed away July 10, 2019. She was the loving wife of the late Merl J. Turzanski. Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Miriam (Fargus) Steinbacher. Josephine earned her B.S. in Nursing Education from Misericordia University and worked previously at Mercy Hospital in Scranton, PA and as a Nursing Instructor for Williamsport Hospital. She was a founding member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. She also volunteered with the Boy Scouts for over 25 years. She was South Mountain District Advancement Chairman for 17 years. A Silver Beaver recipient, she also received many other Scouting awards.
Survivors: Son- Michael Turzanski and wife Susan Peloquin of Burlingame, CA; Daughters- Mary Konek of Oakmont, PA , Ann Souzer of Grove City, Elizabeth and husband George Kost of Berwick, Margaret and husband Norman “Pete” LaCoe Jr. of Clark Summit; 7 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother- John P. Steinbacher.

It is with great sorrow and sadness the family of Edmund Joseph Cucci passed on June 21, 2019 at the age of 89.
Edmund was born on November 6, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York. Edmund was a patriot and served in the Korean War.
Edmund was a devoted family man and devout Christian and served in many callings for his church. His love of classical music, the opera and American History was known to his family and friends.
Edmund will be missed by his loving and devoted wife of 37 ½ years Joyce: children, Patricia Cucci Ventra, Mary Cucci DePetris, Julius Cucci; 3 stepsons; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and sisters- Joan Fiorenti and Lillian Ristuccia.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 27th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1881 Van Buren Dr. Whitehall, PA 18052. A viewing will be held 9-10:30AM in the Relief Society Room and a Service will follow at 11AM in the Chapel. A Graveside Service at the Mausoleum will be held at 3PM in Somerset Hills Memorial Park 95 Mt. Airy Rd Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Arrangements are entrusted to Downing Funeral Home, Inc. in Bethlehem, PA.

Agnes Louise Buryk
Agnes Louise (Olshefski) Buryk, 97, of Allentown, passed away June 19, 2019. She was the loving wife of the late Walter Buryk. Born in Jeanette, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Goretski) Olshefski. Louise was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing BINGO.
Survivors: daughter Rose Marie Luther and husband Barry of Fair Oaks, CA; son Walter J Buryk and his wife Brenda of Falmouth Ma; 5 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by 8 brothers and 5 sisters.

Bernadine M. (Bauder) Hawk, 95, of Bethlehem, passed away June 16, 2019 in her home. She was the loving wife of the late William J. Hawk Sr. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Asher and Pauline (Reidman) Bauder. Bernie was a 1942 graduate of Liberty High School. She was a co-owner, with her husband, of Hawk Music. Bernie was also a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
Survivors: sons, William J. Hawk Jr. and his late wife Donna, Lawrence Hawk and his wife Catherine, Thomas Hawk and his wife Renee, Phillip Hawk and his wife, Jenny; daughters, Patricia wife of Dean Paulus and Rebecca wife of Michael Darrell; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother- John Bauder and great grandson- Maxwell Oskam.

Anne M. Rozum, 95, of Sacred Heart Senior Living Center Valley, formerly of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Fort Myers, Florida and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019. Anne was the widow of Dr. Joseph I. Rozum who passed away in 1978. Anne was born in Garnerville, NY and was the daughter of the late Joseph Slosarcik and Mary (Petrus) Slosarcik of Gary, Indiana. Anne was a graduate of St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Gary, Indiana. Anne was a registered nurse while residing in Gary, Indiana before moving to Pennsylvania. Anne worked at Community General Hospital in Reading. She also worked with her husband, the late Dr. Joseph Rozum, at his Dental practice in Reading, Pennsylvania. Anne was very proud of her Slovak heritage and cooked many wonderful Slovak meals.
Survivors: Anne is survived by her three children: John K. Rozum and his wife Jill (Berkenstock) of Sinking Spring; JoAnn M. (Rozum) Righi wife of Robert J. Righi of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Joseph J. Rozum of Woodland Hills, California. Four Grandchildren: Shane Rozum, Jason Rozum, Katie Jo Righi, Rebecca Jo Righi and two great grandchildren: Kylie Rozum and Gabriella Rowe. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Joseph Rozum and her infant son, Andrew.

Jerome J. Quarry, age 95, of Bethlehem, passed away on June 12, 2019 surrounded by his family at Lehigh Valley Hospice. Jerome was the loving husband to Joan E. Quarry (Nortz)
Born in Hellertown, Jerome was the son of the late John Quarry and Kathryn Lane.
Growing up in Bethlehem he attended St. Simon and Jude grade school and Liberty High School. He started Moravian College in 1942 but was soon drafted and served his country in the United States Army in WWII. He returned to Moravian in 1946 and met his wife Joan. They were married on Dec. 23, 1947.
While at Moravian, he played varsity tennis for three years, serving as captain of the
'Greyhounds' his senior year. Since he suffered from a trick shoulder he taught
himself to play both right handed and left handed.
Jerome also attended Kutztown University and Lehigh University while teaching in the Bethlehem Area School District. He was later appointed principal, a job he held until retiring from the district in 1986.
In addition to playing tennis, Jerry was also an avid golf player and got his first
hole-in-one at the age of 87 at Dutch Elm Golf Course in Maine.
Jerome is survived by his wife Joan, and children; Eileen Fehr of Pocono Lake, PA, Theodore of Bath, PA, Maureen Banko of West Palm Beach, FL and Sheila Zenz of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Nicolette Folger of Macungie, PA and Annabella Zenz of Peoria, AZ. Jerome was preceded in death by his son, Peter and grandson, Christopher.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10:30am. Family and friends may call from 9:30am until the time of the service. Inurnment to follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Michael Handelong, 62, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Manor Care Nursing Home 2029 in Bethlehem. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 11th 9:30-10AM with a Service to follow at 10AM in Downing Funeral Home, Inc. 1002 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Zoyla H. (Haubner) Morrow, 75, of Northampton, passed away peacefully in her home on May 14, 2019. She was the loving wife of 50 years to Dr. Gerald J. Morrow. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Zoyla P. (Knust) Haubner. Zoyla enjoyed spending her time volunteering for various causes. She retired as a Registered Nurse for RX Homecare. Zoyla was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and summering in Ocean City, NJ. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors: husband- Dr. Gerald J. Morrow; son- Dan and his wife Linda Morrow of King of Prussia; daughter- Jane Morrow of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters- Meghan and Sophie; brothers- George Haubner of West Orange, NJ and John Haubner of Ladera Ranch, CA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
