Ronald “Ron” P. Nelson, 75, of Center Valley, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He grew up in Fountain Hill, son of the late Paul and Caroline (Spirk), and husband to the late Mary Wagner. Ron was ‘a jack of all trades’ working as a salesman to a construction worker. Over the years, he had many dogs, always a German Shepherd, who became his favorite companions. He was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed watching sports, action movies and reading adventurous books. He was an accomplished chess player and would retell the story of playing chess with the inmates of Lewisburg Penitentiary. Did you hear this story? Ron loved to tell stories about events that happened to him and his family and his pets. He was an optimist and never complained about his life situation.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Cindi Nelson Christman, sons Brian (Pankey) and Rob Wagner (Karen), daughter, Kim Barrett, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 from 6-8pm at the Downing Funeral Home, 1002 West Broad St in Bethlehem. Saturday service is private.

Catherine D. (Deegan) Nunzio, 91, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully in her sleep while in the care of the devoted staff of Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Lucy (Merwath) Deegan. Catherine was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church and previously Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales and playing Bingo. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her Grandpups over the years. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors: son- Mark Nunzio husband of the late Vicky of Riverside, CA, daughter- Lisa Werner wife of Greg of Bethlehem, granddaughter- Kelsey Nunzio companion of Jake Reed, sisters- Marjorie Wilbur and Dorothea Sewald, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband- Joseph S. Nunzio, brothers- Edward, William and Joseph Deegan and sisters- Suzanne Cressman, Jane Jones and Maryann Ruggeri.
Services will be Private care of Downing Funeral Home, Inc.

Duc Thi Bui Nguyen, 57, of Allentown, passed away July 31, 2021. She was the loving wife to Tien Nguyen. Born in Vietnam she was the daughter of Lan (Thi) Tran and the late Thien Bui. She worked for many years as a nail technician.

Survivors: mother- Lan Thi Tran; husband- Tien Nguyen; children- Linh Nguyen, Mai Nguyen and CAO Quy Nguyen; siblings- Monsignor Peter Dai Bui, Dao Thi Bui, Thao thi Bui, Hanh Thi Bui, Phuc Thi Bui, Nghia Thi Bui, Trong Thi Bui, Thuan Thi Bui, Tiffany-Hoa Thi Bui, Trung Van Bui, Thanh Van Bui.

John Thomas Nehilla, beloved son, brother, nephew, and uncle, sadly passed away after a brief illness on July 30, 2021 at Holy Spirit Medical Center of Camp Hill, PA. He was 49 years old.

Born and raised in Bethlehem, he was the son of Lorraine Ann (Zamadics) and the late Stanislaus John Nehilla. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and spent his life bringing joy to all those who got to know and love him...in between bites of ring bologna and cheese and watching The Three Stooges.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, his brother, Stephen (Melanie) Nehilla, his sister, Karen Nehilla (John Griffiths), and ten nieces and nephews.

Patricia A. (Krolik) Nebinger, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away November 3, 2019. She was the wife of the late Robert Nebinger and daughter of the late Joseph Krolik and Marian O’Connell. She is survived by her daughter –Lorelei Broskey and 2 Grandchildren. Services will be announced at a later date.

Bernadine M. (Salabsky) Nastasee, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away September 4, 2019. She was the wife of the late Frank P. Nastasee Jr. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Farris) Salabsky. She was a telephone sales manager for Sears. Bernadine was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church and their Seniors group. She was also a member of the Democratic Committee of the 11th ward of Bethlehem for many years. She was a great cook, seamstress and fisherman. Bernadine enjoyed caring for others and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors: children- Antonia R. Faibisy and husband John of Ruther Glen, VA, Jane F. Hardin and husband Robin of Modesto, CA, Francis P. Nastasee and wife Mary Anne of Bethlehem, Thomas A. Nastasee of Bethlehem; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister- Elizabeth Bastian and husband Robert. She was predeceased by her son- James Nastasee, brothers- Joseph and Bernard Salabsky and sister- Jean Dokoupil.

A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, September 14th at 10AM in Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Interment will follow in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Downing Funeral Home, Inc.

David W. Nonnemacher, Sr., 77, of Lower Nazareth, passed away January 10, 2018. He was the loving husband of almost 58 years to Catherine R. (Szoke) Nonnemacher. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Laura M. (Rutt) Nonnemacher. David served in the U.S. National Guard Reserves and the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Bethlehem Steel’s beam yard, after 32 years of service. David was a handyman and his passion was woodworking, making George Nakashima type furniture. He was an avid camper and enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to Disney.

Survivors: wife- Catherine Nonnemacher; daughters- Peggy Konnick and husband Troy of Breinigsville, Caroline Knowles of Bethlehem Twp, Roseann Hannis and husband Joseph of Bethlehem; grandchildren- Matthew Amey, Trista Knowles, Natasha Henn, David Hannis, Mark Wass; 4 great grandchildren; brother- Albert “Sonny” Nonnemacher and wife Helen of Port St. Lucie, FL; son- in- law- Tom Amey. He was predeceased by his son- David “Butch” Nonnemacher Jr.

Stanislaus J. Nehilla, 77, of Bethlehem, passed away January 7, 2018. He was the loving husband of 51 years to Lorraine A. (Zamadics) Nehilla. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Wysakowski) Nehilla. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Stanislaus worked previously for the Catholic Diocese of Allentown at Holy Saviour Cemetery. He was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church, where he served as an alter server.

Survivors: wife- Lorraine A. Nehilla; children- Stephen J. Nehilla and wife Melanie of Mechanicsburg, John T. Nehilla at home, Karen M. Griffiths and husband John of Arlington Heights, IL; 10 grandchildren; brothers- Francis Nehilla of West Chester, Gerald Nehilla of Allentown, Henry Nehilla of Holmes Beach, FL.

A calling time will be held on Friday, January 12th 10-11AM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM all in Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial to follow in Holy Saviour Cemetery.
