Ruth (Anderson) Weaver, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away October 4, 2021. She was the wife of the late Calvin W. Weaver. She worked previously for the former Rickels Store. She was a member of Rosemont Lutheran Church. Ruth enjoyed cooking, tending to her plants and bird watching. She will be deeply missed.
William A. Wallen, 65, of Wind Gap, passed away October 14, 2020. He was the loving husband of M. Kathleen (Snyder) Hartzell. Born in Norwich, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick and Patricia (Marshman) Wallen. He graduated from Norwich HS and later earned an Associates degree from Northampton Community College. William worked for many years for Valerie Fashions, Aaron Resources and several others, including the American Legion in Wind Gap, which was his final job before his retirement. He was of the Lutheran faith. Will was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a member of the American Legion in Wind Gap and served on the Wind Gap Borough Council. He had acted in the community theatre in Norwich. He enjoyed playing pool with friends, on leagues, or just for fun. He was a good shot, too! Will was very into music. He sang Karaoke, played the guitar and sang and wrote his own songs, many of which were in the style of his favorite artist, Harry Chapin.
Clifford V. Wotring, 70, of Allentown, passed away January 30, 2020. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Henry and Arlene (Faust) Wotring. Clifford graduated Parkland High School and Empire Beauty School. He was the owner and operator of The Hairbender for many years.
Helen C. (Golab) Werkheiser, 95, of Bethlehem, passed away September 13, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Gerald H. Werkheiser. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helena (Zielenska) Golab. Helen was primarily a homemaker but took pride in working during WWII for Bethlehem Steel. She achieved her life long goal of obtaining her GED, at the age of 70, from Liberty High School. She was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church and participated in their Sodality group. Helen volunteered for Holy Family Manor and enjoyed being involved with her children’s activities. Helen treasured her time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
George Creedon West, 92, of Allentown died peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2018. Born in Homestead, PA November 4, 1925, he was eldest son of John R. and Katherine (Creedon) West. George was a combat veteran of WWII, serving with the Fighting 69th Infantry in Europe. He later served the U.S. Navy Reserves, receiving honorable discharges from both the Army and Navy. George began his career with the U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh, lived and worked in California for several years, and later became a long-time realtor and insurance professional in the Lehigh Valley heading his own agencies, West Associates Insurance and Century 21 West Associates. George had an active family and social life. He loved to sing in church choirs and was a founding member of the St. Catherine’s Cathedral Choir. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
Geraldine (Jerri) Greiner Wood of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania passed away on February 10, 2018. She was born on August 20, 1930 in Columbiana, Ohio where she was raised with her two brothers Sam and Don, by Mildred and George Greiner, all predeceased her.
Regina W. (Wiley) Watson, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away January 14, 2018. She was the wife of the late James Watson. Born in Hendricks County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Delia (Dugan) Wiley. She was 6th of their nine children. She was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
