Dolores "Dolly" L. (Jankaitis) Schiavone, 69, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, August 09, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph A. Schiavone. Born in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Josephine (Spolidare) Jankaitis. She was a retired Hair Dresser. Dolores was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

Samuel Shireman
Samuel Shireman, 94, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at Fellowship Community Manor on Sunday evening. The son of the late Alonzo and Frances (Bastian) Shireman, he was also predeceased by his sisters Rosanna (Shireman) Harpster and Ruth (Shireman) Tomlinson. Sam was a devoted husband and father. He was married to the late Alice (Foltz) Shireman for 63 years; he is survived by all five of his children: Jean (George) Rau of Bethlehem, Jane (James) Cottrell of Surprise, AZ, James (Karen) Shireman of Hellertown, Jeffrey (Kristi) Shireman of Harrisburg and John Shireman of Sacramento, CA. Sam was blessed with six grandchildren: David Rau (Giuli) of Paradise Valley, AZ; Greg (Kim) Rau of Winter Garden, FL; Justin (Maria) Shireman of Bethlehem; Jenna Minter (Josh)of the Netherlands, Marc Shireman of Paradise Valley, AZ and Deandra Shireman of Sacramento, CA; he is also survived by great-grandchildren Kyle Rau, Taylor Kemmerer, Cassandra Rau, Nicholas Rau, Coleman Rau and five great-great grandchildren.
Sam was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Bethlehem for 59 years; he was a retired Bethlehem Steel supervisor and Civil Engineer Land Surveyor, a WWII Bomber pilot of a B-25 in the Army Air Force, and a pilot in the Berlin Airlift. He also served in Korea during the conflict and commanded a base in Japan; he retired a Lt. Col. in the Air Force Reserves. A Lehigh University graduate, he once scored a touchdown against Penn State as a member of the football team. He was an avid golfer, Lehigh wrestling fan, Little League Coach, Cub Scouts leader, and an active member of the NW Bethlehem Lions Club.
A calling time will be held on Thursday 3-4PM with a Service at 4PM all in the Fellowship Manor Chapel 3000 Fellowship Dr. Whitehall, PA 18052.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Stephanos and Kathleen (Applegate) Skoutelas. Nicholas was the Co-Owner, Operator and Head Baker of Vallos Bakery. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Frank J. Schadl Jr., 84, of Fountain Hill, passed away on Friday, January 04, 2013, in his daughter Patricia’s home in Nazareth. He was the loving husband of the late Marion V. (Reenock) Schadl. Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Huetter) Schadl Sr. He served in the U.S. Army. Frank was retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of University Parish of Holy Ghost in Bethlehem.

Mary Stephan
Mary (Danyluk) Stephan died at the age of 87 on November 28, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Theodore Danyluk, Lower Saucon Twp. Mary was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1942, upon graduation she took a position in the Alumi Office at Lehigh University. She married Ed Jerome Stephan in 1946 and they had 6 children. Ed predeceased Mary in 1991. Mary and Ed were members of SS Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Mary participated in the adult choir, folk group, the Sodality and was also a Eucharistic Minister. She was a retreat promoter at Elkins Park for 25 years and also a lifetime associate member of Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Mary volunteered at Holy Family Manor, Catholic Charities, Calypso Elementary School and the American Heart Assoc. She baby sat for her precious grandchildren, which she loved to do.

Ruth Selvaggio
Ruth (Roland) Selvaggio, 90, a long-time resident of the Eaton Avenue Apartments in Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012. She was the wife of the late James Selvaggio also of Bethlehem.
Mrs. Selvaggio is survived by her daughter Trudie Penta and husband Robert of Tucson, Arizona and son Harry and wife Anita Richter of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, November 30 between 1:30 and 2:00 pm with a service at 2:00pm all in Downing Funeral Home, 1002 W. Broad Street, Bethlehem, Pa 18018. Felice D. (DeSieno) Sobyak, 89, of Whitehall, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the loving wife of the late John J. Sobyak for 58 years until his passing in 2008. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Michelina (Castellucci) DeSieno. She retired from Bethlehem Area School District. Felice was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church.
