Franklin Preston Foster, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015. He was the loving husband of 69 years of Doris W. (Wolf) Foster. They were married in Belleville, IL on Dec. 1, 1945. Born in Islip, NY he was the son of the late Franklin S. and Elizabeth (Johnston) Foster. Franklin graduated from Islip High School in NY and attended Brooklyn Polytech until he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce during WWII. He was then in the Reserves until 1952. He retired from ITT World Com, formerly Mackay Radio, after 40 years. Franklin was a member of the ITT Quarter Century Club and an Honorary Life Member of the Communication Workers of America. He was a recipient of the ITT Employee of the Year Award. He was also a head usher at St. Patrick’s Church in Bay Shore, NY and an active member of Ss Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem and their Seniors.

Foster of Sunnyside, NY; Grandchildren- Jessica Segal Henry and husband Adam Henry, Ted Segal and wife Katie Kelly Segal, Elizabeth Segal, Molly Foster and Joseph Foster; Great Grandchildren- Amelia Henry, Walter Henry and Margot Segal.
A viewing will be held on Friday 9-10AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM at Ss Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial to follow in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements care of Downing Funeral Home, Inc.

Ferdinand Frassetto
Ferdinand Frassetto of Allentown died on August 23, 2014. He was 92. Born in Allentown, Fred was the son of the late Ferdinand Frassetto and Stella (Rossetti) Frassetto. He was married for 57 years to the late Frances (Savarese) Frassetto, who died in 2006. He was a 1941 graduate of Allentown High School. Fred was a Navy veteran of WWII serving as a radioman on a merchant tanker and in the Pacific theater. Prior to his retirement in 1986 he was employed for 30 years at the Allentown Converting Co. and for 16 years at Phoenix Clothes in Allentown. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Fred loved to garden, cook, read, do puzzles, and watch baseball, especially the Phillies and the Iron Pigs. He also enjoyed going out and sharing a few drinks with his sons. Until his illness Fred had much vitality along with the love and respect of those who knew him. He will be missed by all.
Survivors: Sons, Joseph and his wife Carol of Whitehall, Daniel and his wife Cindy of Emmaus,daughter Colette Kern and her husband Brian of Schnecksville, grandchildren, Scott and his wife Lisa, Erika Butler and her husband Travis, Adam Kern and his wife Nicole and Michael Kern, a great grandson Cody Butler and step grandsons Robert Gotthardt, Jr. and Richard Gotthardt, sister, Charlotte DeCorso and her husband Nicholas. He was pre-deceased by brothers John and Joseph.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday Sept. 13th at 11AM in Downing Funeral Home Inc. 1002 W Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. No calling hours.
Charles Fernandes
Charles “Chas” Fernandes, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was the loving husband of Dorothy R. (Inhoff) Fernandes with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage last September. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John and Jenny (Kish) Fernandes. He worked for 15 years for Fountain Hill Mills and then for 30 years at Spirax Sarco. Chas was a member of Ss Simon and Jude Catholic Church. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local Union #2109. Chas was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

Robert Finger
Robert P. Finger, 85, of Lower Saucon passed away September 20, 2013. Born on December 14, 1927 in Short Hills, NJ, he was the son of the late Fredrick N. and Elizabeth (Tietzman) Finger. Robert and his wife Jane Lynch Galle Finger celebrated 17 years of marriage in February. Robert graduated from Liberty High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp serving honorably from 1945 to 1951. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp. and in 1964 he was transferred to The Burns Harbor Plant being built in Portage, IN. Following his duties in Public Relations and as Foreman in the Plate Mill Division he retired in 1988. Robert was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Hellertown.

Charlotte P. Frace
Charlotte P. (Burkhart) Frace, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away June 11, 2012. She was the loving wife of the late John W. Frace. Born in Lansford, she was the daughter of the late Paul L. and Florence (Weller) Burkhart. Charlotte graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree. She worked as a Dietician for Sacred Heart Hospital from 1965 until her retirement in 1987.

Rose Fallon- McCreary
Rose (Perry) Fallon- McCreary, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Country Meadows Senior Living, Bethlehem. She was the loving wife of John Fallon till his passing in 1985 and then to Charles J. McCreary for 23 years. Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecil (Hines) Perry. Rose previously worked for Alexander Tag Industries and Temple University Hospital. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and in Abington Hospital’s Gift Shop. Rose bowled in a league at Thunder Bird Lanes in Willow Grove.
