William E. Barron, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away Dec. 9, 2013. He was husband to Regina Winsko-Barron for 34 years. Born in
Jerome, he was the son of the late John and Kathleen Barron. William retired from Bethlehem Steel as a Mechanical Engineer after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

Thurlo Bristol, 90 of Allentown, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Her husband, the late James A. Bristol passed away February 22, 2000. Thurlo was born in Chicago on November 3, 1923, the daughter of the late Hessie and Lutie (Embry) Lee. She worked in assembly for the former Western Electric and was a former member of St. Peters UCC in Allentown. Survivors: James D. Bristol of Barto, PA; sister, Kathleen Shacket of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Brandy Poore of Greenville, SC. Predeceased by four siblings. Services: A viewing will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the Downing Funeral Home, 1002 Broad St., Bethlehem. Interment will follow services in Bethlehem Memorial Park.

Lorraine R. (Harwick) Buck, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late William Buck. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Edna (Reinhart) Harwick. Lorraine loved to travel with her family and loved her grand cats. She was a spiritual woman whose passion for reading allowed her to expand her knowledge about any subject. Survivors: Daughter, Nancy Becker of Bethlehem Twp.; brother, Frank Schuler and wife Janice, of Allentown; sister, Deborah Bainbridge and husband Ray, of Kempton; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her identical twin sister, Eleanor Steiner. Services: It was Lorraines wishes to donate her body to the Philadelphia Area Medical Schools to assist them in their studies. Frances R. (Schamenek) Borlodan, 94, of Bethlehem, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012. She was the wife of the late George F. Borlodan. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary A. (Dravecz) Schamenek. Frances retired from Just Born after 20 years of service. She was a lifetime member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church and current member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miller Heights.

Frances C. (Conahan) Bender, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Holy Family Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Francis P. Bender. Born in Morea, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Francis J. and Anna (Barager) Conahan. Frances attended Chestnut Hill College. She was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Golden Hillers and the St. Ursula Women’s Guild. Frances enjoyed art and oil painting.

John “Johnny” J. Becker, 67, of Bethlehem Twp. passed away Friday, April 6, 2012. He was the loving husband for 45 years to his high school sweetheart Judith A. (Morris) Becker. He was the son of the late Alexander Becker and Julia (Czeck) Becker. Johnny served in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked in the Beam Yards for 33 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Johnny was also a member of the VFW and the Stockertown Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping in the Poconos and loved animals especially his dog, Jacob.

Edna Herman Briody “Eddie”, born April 8, 1923 passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday February 15. A Mauch Chunk native, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Otto) Herman. She graduated from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1944 and was a member of the Catholic Nurses Guild of the Lehigh Valley. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital and was a volunteer at the former ASH hospital. Edna rejoins her husband of 60 years, Thomas, brother Otto, and son Terence.


She is survived by sons Thomas and wife Sharon, Timothy and wife Pam, Ted and wife Carol, grandchildren Erin, Shaun, Tara, Mollie and Patrick, and great grandson Matthew.

Albert J. Bristol, Jr. 90, of Allentown passed away Nov. 18, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
He was the husband of the late Cecelia B. Bristol who died Aug. 26, 2011.
Born in Ashley, PA on August 15, 1921 he was the son of the late Margaret (Davis) and Albert Bristol, Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, earning 5 Bronze Stars. Albert retired in 1983, as an Assistant for the former N.J. Zinc after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown. He was also a member of H. Stanley Goodwin Lodge #648 in Bethlehem, the Lehigh Consistory in Allentown and the West Side Republican Club.
