Harold “Harry” E. Schaefer, 72, of Bethlehem, passed away October 19, 2017. He was the loving husband of 33 years to Karen M. (Moore) Schaefer. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Shafton) Schaefer. Harry retired from Bethlehem Area VoTech, having taught carpentry for 30 years. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Bethlehem and was a former member of Bethlehem J.C.’s. He had coached Little League in Hokendauqua and was a member of the Catasauqua YMCA Indian Guys. Harry volunteered for the Lehigh Valley Outreach Depot. His greatest love was camping and traveling with his wife.
Survivors: wife- Karen; sons- James and wife Angie of Colorado and Daniel and wife Lori of Allentown; 3 grandchilden- Jay, Camryn and Anthony; sister- Rosalyn Lynch of Allentown.
A Celebration Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements care of Downing Funeral Home, Inc.

Kathleen M. (Simmons) Zelko, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away October 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Ferdinand Zelko for 50 years. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Catherine (Tierney) Simmons. Kathy worked previously for Bethlehem Steel in the billing dept. She was a member of Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Kathy’s family was her life and she was very proud of them. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, doing daily crypto quotes, watching “Uncle Jeffrey” on CWTAP and spending an afternoon at the casino.
Survivors: daughter- Kathleen Lund and husband William; sons- Robert and his wife Lynn and Dean; 5 granddaughters- Rebecca and husband Lou Strybuc, Julie and Luke Molchany, Kasey and husband Jeremy Walker, Jennifer and Kelsey Lund; great grandchildren- Brock and Maxwell Molchany, Rachel and Lucian Strybuc V; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers- John, James and Joseph.

Jeanne M. Pfaff (Ziegler), 64, of Albrightsville, passed away October 19, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Dale A. Ziegler. Born in Willow Grove, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Marie (Wolstenholme) Pfaff. Jeanne had worked for over 30 years for Prudential Insurance, which then became Hartford Insurance as the contract for AARP changed. Jeanne treasured and maintained strong connections with former co-workers after retiring in 2012. She was very active in the Towamensing Trails Clubhouse, holding various positions in the club and made lasting friendships and an extended family in this community where she resided for over 30 years. Jeanne loved fast cars – preferably a six speed, a good scotch, a medium rare steak and loved to laugh. She also had a special love for her Yorkshire Terrier dogs. We remember and celebrate her for her kindness, dry humor and generosity.
Survivors: step-son- Brian D. Ziegler and his wife Linda Krisko of Bethlehem, step-daughter- Jill A. (Ziegler) Kalaris and her husband Thomas of Ashburn, VA, step-son- Barry C. Ziegler of Sydney, Australia.
A calling time will be held on Friday, Oct. 27th 10-11AM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11AM all in Downing Funeral Home, Inc. 1002 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial to follow in Blue Church Cemetery, Coopersburg and a luncheon at Hotel Bethlehem.
Louise J. (Garger) Yuhas, 89, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully October 11, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Michael E. Yuhas. Born in Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Weider) Garger. Louise worked previously for Forte Neckwear. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Louise loved to play BINGO and was an avid reader. She was always known by family and friends for her halupki and nut roll. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors: daughter- Diana Deutsch and husband Donald of Moore Twp.; granddaughter- Amanda Deutsch; brother- Edwin Garger of Las Cruces, NM. She was predeceased by brothers- Joseph, John “Lefty”, Frank and James and sisters-Matilda and Elsie.

A viewing will be held Tuesday in church 9:30-10:30AM with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM all in St. Anne’s Catholic Church 450 E. Washington Ave Bethlehem, PA 18017. Veronica H. (Orlando) Clifford, of Bethlehem, passed away October 8, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Clifford. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of Angelo and Marie (Donnelly) Orlando. Her whole life she spent dancing and dreaming of being a “Ballerina.” She grew up dancing for her family and friends, attending musicals and practicing whenever she could. She eventually enrolled in the dance studio in the O’Reilly building on 3rd and New Sts where she danced and eventually took over the School. She worked very hard, even making some of the costumes by hand, but truly loved her job. She then gave birth to her wonderful son- Thomas. She continued to teach and studied with many teachers locally and in NY. Veronica then opened her studio up at 540 N. New St. Bethlehem, Ronnie Clifford School of Dance. She taught over 2,000 children in her over 50 years of teaching. After moving to Lutheran Manor she lived a very active life, being involved with scheduling entertainment and giving line dance lessons. She then moved on to share her life with those at Manor Care 2021 where many old students and friends got together to help celebrate her last big birthday in April. Veronica was a wonderful teacher but her son and family were deeply important to her. She will be sadly missed by many.
Survivors: Son- Thomas Clifford, 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother- Joseph Orlando and sister-Gladys Heimpel.
